    NATIONAL GEOGRAPHICS SLINGSHOT CHALLENGE


    Now until February 7, 2025 | USA

    We believe that changing the future of conservation begins with small steps: with great ideas that drive impact in YOUR community. We believe that together, our ideas and actions will add up to progress protecting our planet and improving our future. We invite 13–18-year-olds to rise to the challenge, and to submit a 1-minute video describing their idea for solving environmental issues for a chance to receive up to $10,000 in funding. Submissions are due by February 7, 2025.

    Join youth from across Texas for a three-day summit focused on building community, exploring personal beliefs, and engaging with government leaders. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and direct conversations with representatives, participants will gain tools to advocate for meaningful change.

    Who:
    11th & 12th graders + 1st- & 2nd-year college students
    When: President’s Day weekend (Feb 15-17, 2025)
    Where: St. David’s Episcopal Church, Austin, TX

    This event fosters empathy, listening, and problem-solving in a supportive space. Adult chaperones from all communities are welcome and encouraged.

    STEM Girl Day at UT Austin

    The University of Texas at Austin campus
    Elementary and middle school students, families, and educators are invited to join UT Austin for FREE hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fun on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. CT on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

    UT Austin’s national award-winning STEM Girl Day recruitment program, presented by Women in STEM (WiSTEM), gives K-8th graders a chance to explore STEM through grade-appropriate, hands-on activities hosted by scientists, engineers, astronomers, mathematicians and other STEM enthusiasts from student organizations, research centers, corporate partners and community organizations. The day concludes with a STEM Girl Day Pep Rally at 4 p.m. All genders are welcome!
