Classroom Guides
At the end of each school year, we have a Gates of Life ceremony for students who are moving up and moving on. This tradition spans across the grade levels at Headwaters and is a treasured tradition. We recite these words to mark the transition, "An ending is but another beginning. Rejoice all ye who pass through these gates.” This year, we are so excited to invite the entire elementary school to this exciting event to celebrate together in song with the help of Music Guide Melissa Solomon and then send off our graduating 5th graders.

Here is some helpful information for this Friday’s Gates of Life celebrations:
  • Parking
    • If the school’s lot is full, please park in the Randall’s Parking lot. Do not park at Goodwill or any other businesses as they will tow.
    • For Primary families coming from Springs Gates of Life, we will have one reserved spot for each of the 28 families located at the North end of our parking lot for you. They will be denoted with cones or caution tape.
  • What to bring:
    • Please bring camp chairs for adults to sit comfortably. Students will sit with their classes in the Grove on blankets.
  • Arrival Time
    • Families are welcome to arrive at school and head to the Grove (In the K-1 Playground near the Yurt) as early as 10 a.m. to set up chairs and mingle. See the map below for how seating will work.
  • Where to go and when:
    • 10:25 a.m. : K-1 and/or EE parents and students will go to your student’s classroom. You can leave your chairs in the grove.
    • 10:30 a.m.: UE students (only) will come to their classrooms and are invited to bring something to have friends and classmates sign–like a yearbook, a white t-shirt, an autograph book, etc. Students will join in the Grove for the 11:15 start time. Upper Elementary parents can hang out in the Grove until the 11:15 a.m. start time.
  • No provided childcare:
    • This day is a celebration, not a school day. No childcare staff are officially on duty. Parents are responsible for their own children.
    • This event is encouraged, but not required.
  • Rain or shine event:
    • We will be outdoors in the Grove, rain or shine.
Student Photo Privacy Request at School Events
In an effort to maintain a secure and respectful environment for all of our students while at school, we would like to ask parents to refrain from sharing photos of children, other than their own, on social media platforms. We understand the excitement that comes with capturing precious moments, but we ask for your understanding and support in protecting the privacy of all our students whose parents may not wish for their image to be shared. Apps like Canva, PicsArt, or just your phone’s editing capabilities are great ways to crop or add a sticker.
