Primary Gates of Life

We welcome our Primary students and their families to this special ceremony to honor those Primary students who are moving up or moving on. Students will wait in the Peace Garden for their name to be called on the loudspeaker. They will then pass through the Gates of Life with a photo op for parents.  

This is a standing room only event and parents are welcome to bring folding chairs.  
 
A few notes about this end-of-year event:  
  • This event is not required attendance.  
  • If you attend, please stay with your child at all times.  
  • There is no childcare offered on this day. 
  • This event is rain or shine.
Student Photo Privacy Request at School Events
In an effort to maintain a secure and respectful environment for all of our students while at school, we would like to ask parents to refrain from sharing photos of children, other than their own, on social media platforms. We understand the excitement that comes with capturing precious moments, but we ask for your understanding and support in protecting the privacy of all our students whose parents may not wish for their image to be shared. Apps like Canva, PicsArt, or just your phone’s editing capabilities are great ways to crop or add a sticker.

What are the Gates of Life?
At the end of each school year, we have a Gates of Life ceremony for students who are moving up and moving on. This tradition spans across the grade levels at Headwaters and is a treasured tradition. We recite these words to mark the transition, "An ending is but another beginning. Rejoice all ye who pass through these gates."
