We are excited to announce that this year’s High School Prom will take place on the Central Library Rooftop on Friday, April 4, 2025! We’ll dance the night away from 8-11 p.m. The theme is “City Under the Stars.”

The theme for this year’s prom is “City Under the Stars,” taking advantage of the view from six stories above downtown Austin. Dress your best with lots of dark blue, black and shimmer and come ready to dance all night. Pose with your besties for a memorable photo-booth session, win a game of cornhole, and take home a memento of the evening. Light snacks and sweets will be served alongside themed beverages.

P.S. High Schoolers (only) will have an early dismissal at 12:50 p.m. on Prom day to get ready!



Guest Policy

Students are welcome to invite one guest from outside our community. When you purchase your ticket, please purchase your guest’s ticket. During this process, you will be prompted to enter their parent/guardian information and agree to the Event Attendee & Guest Policy Agreement. This agreement will take the place of the previously required Guest Request Form. Please take time to review the Agreement, as some expectations have been updated. 

Rules

All Headwaters School rules are in effect during school dances. If you are unclear of Headwaters School rules, please review the Student and Family Handbook. 

Additionally, here are some dance-specific rules:
  • Backpacks or bags larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are not allowed into the event. Guests may return oversized bags to their vehicle before entry or leave them at the door, where they will be held for the duration of the event. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary bags.
  • If arriving later than thirty (30) minutes after the event start time, entry may not be granted.  
  • Prom is taking place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Students and their guests are expected to arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. and to remain at the Prom until 11 p.m. Early departures are not allowed.
  • Students are not allowed re-entry to the dance if they leave the building. This includes leaving the dance to go out to the car, so please bring what you need into the dance. 
  • Outside food or beverages are not allowed into the event. 
  • If a student or guest violates any of the rules, both will be dismissed from the dance without refund. Also, parents/guardians will be informed and requested to pick-up.
  • When students and guests leave the event, they must have appropriate transportation on-site or a parent arriving for pick up within view of the event host. Event host will be outside for this process.

Attire

This is a semi-formal event and would like our students to feel excited about the evening. We encourage guests to dress to impress, but it’s not required to attend. All are welcome.

Parking

  • The Austin Central Library features two levels of underground parking with 140 parking spaces. The entrance is on West Avenue. Parking validation QR codes will be available once inside the dance.
  • Please note: we will be sharing the garage with a wedding that evening, so parking will be first come, first served. 
  • In the case of a full garage, street parking is available at COA hourly rates through the ParkATX app. The Seaholm Garage is also an option. As a last resort, students are welcome to park on the River Campus.
  • Students are encouraged to leave all valuables at home and be sure to lock their vehicles.
Parents can also drop off and pick-up students.
